Requiem Autumn
Coming soon, Requiem Autumn, a split-division tournament to help new players and established amateur teams alike have a taste of competitive Dota. Fight through an improved group stage, and battle for glory in a double elimination final bracket. With a team of admins always ready to help, and some new automated systems to help things run more smoothly, this is the best experience available for any amateur players. We’ve learned some lessons from LD2L, and we have a new ruleset to help prevent some of the headaches caused by the disorder of previous times. First off, we’re expanding the top end of our player MMR limits to 4000. This allows a lot of players interested in getting stepping stones into competitive Dota a chance to find some teams in direct competition. Additionally, we’re separating lower MMR squads into a separate division, as we understand 1K versus 4K is not always a fun experience, and we’re trying to prevent extremely one-sided experiences from happening. We will NOT be making the division line precisely clear, because this leads to abuse of players dropping MMR to be *just* within lower division boundaries, and we do not want this to become an issue. For solo teams--they WILL be returning, with a couple of improvements. First thing, they will have 6 players instead of 5. 5-man rosters led to a lot of minor issues with scheduling, where finding standins could become difficult and excessively frequent. As a result, we’re further limiting standins to 1 per game, as teams will not be held to their mainline roster every match.
